The Castair I718HC2-S is a 7.5 horsepower, single-phase industrial reciprocating compressor on an 80-gallon horizontal ASME tank, C2 pump configuration, with factory-mounted aftercooler. This is the heavier, quieter, and higher-output variant in the 80-gallon horizontal 7.5 HP single-phase lineup.
The C2 pump runs at 585 RPM — 310 RPM slower than the C1. Despite the lower speed, it delivers more CFM: 35.0 CFM free air versus 32.4 CFM for the C1, because the C2 has larger cylinder displacement. The tradeoff is weight — 760 lbs versus 655 lbs for the I718HC1-S. If your shop needs lower noise and more air output in a single-phase horizontal package, the I718HC2-S is the right call.
