When Does a Contractor Need This vs. Stepping Up
The D1514T20 handles: Pneumatic nail guns (finish, brad, framing), staplers, blow guns, and light inflation. It is appropriate for one operator running a single nailer with normal intermittent use.
Step up to an 8-gallon unit if you are running two nailers simultaneously or a larger framing nailer with rapid-fire nailing sequences that drain the tank faster than the pump can recover.
Step up to a belt-drive unit if you need sustained CFM for painting, sandblasting, or running air tools for extended periods — the direct-drive 1.5 HP at 1,725 RPM is not designed for that duty cycle.
