The Castair Right From The Start Kit RFS003D is the factory-recommended commissioning package for Castair 25 HP and 30 HP Duplex and Tandem piston air compressors. This is the largest and most comprehensive kit in the Right From The Start lineup, configured for dual-head installations at the top of the piston compressor range. You get four gallons of break-in oil covering both pump crankcases, four vibration pads for the larger duplex base, 1-1/4" hardware throughout, and four inlet filter elements — one set per pump head. Everything in the box is sized for the output and physical footprint of a 25–30 HP two-pump setup. Buying as a kit saves 10% versus purchasing components individually.
Kit Components
- GA30W Cast-Lube 30-Weight Oil — 4 Gallons (2 per pump head): Castair factory break-in oil. Semi-synthetic, high temperature rated, low carbon, non-foaming. At 25–30 HP duplex, each pump head has a larger crankcase than smaller models — four gallons covers both during initial fill and the mandatory eight-hour break-in change. Do not skip or defer the break-in oil change; it is the most critical maintenance interval on a new compressor.
- VP100 Rubber Vibration Pads — 4 Pads (4"×4"×1"): Rubber isolation pads for the compressor base. A 25–30 HP duplex machine running both pump heads alternately generates substantial vibration. Four pads distribute the isolation load across the larger base footprint and prevent vibration from transmitting to floor anchors and rigid piping.
- BV114 Full-Flow Ball Valve — 1-1/4" NPT: Full-flow brass/stainless steel ball valve for tank shut-off. At the combined CFM output of a 25–30 HP duplex, the 1-1/4" bore is the correct sizing to prevent flow restriction. Brass/stainless construction for reliable positive shutoff through years of service and maintenance cycles.
- VA125 Stainless Steel Flex Hose — 1-1/4" NPT × 18": Vibration-absorbing flexible connection at the compressor discharge. The 1-1/4" sizing matches the valve and discharge fitting on this horsepower class. Without a flex connection here, vibration from two alternating pump heads works pipe fittings loose faster than on single-head installations.
- 16D Air Filter Elements — 4 Elements: Four inlet filter elements — two per pump head in a standard duplex configuration. Keeping inlet air clean at the 25–30 HP level protects a substantial investment in pump hardware. Replace on schedule per the maintenance interval in your compressor manual.
