Castair Replacement Air Filter Element for D16 Rotary Pump (RAFD16)
The Castair RAFD16 is the replacement paper air filter element for the D16 rotary screw pump, used in the 50 to 60 HP range of Castair rotary screw compressors. Dimensions are ID 6-3/8", OD 9-1/2", HGT 7-7/8". The D16 shares the same outside and inside diameter as the D10 filter (RAFD10) but is taller at 7-7/8" versus 5". Do not substitute RAFD10 for RAFD16 — the height difference affects sealing against the filter housing and will result in unfiltered air bypassing the element.
If you are running a 50 to 60 HP Castair rotary screw compressor, the D16 air end is your air end. These are large, high-output machines — the air end sees significant flow volume, and a restricted or wrong-sized filter will show up quickly as elevated operating temperatures and reduced CFM output. Keep the correct RAFD16 element on the shelf.

- High-volume use: 50-60 HP compressors move a lot of air — in dusty shop environments, air filters need more frequent inspection than on smaller machines
- Scheduled interval: Track on your hour meter; inspect filter at each oil change at minimum
- Early indicator: Elevated discharge temperature at normal ambient conditions is often filter restriction before it shows on a pressure gauge
