The Castair I15312VC2 is a 15-horsepower, 3-phase industrial air compressor on a 120-gallon vertical tank with the C2 pump at 898 RPM — the non-starter version of the I15312VC2-S. Identical in every spec: 45.3 CFM at 175 PSI, 120-gallon ASME vertical tank at 44x30x75 inches, 980 lbs. The difference is that the magnetic motor starter is not factory-mounted and must be sourced and installed separately.
When to Order This Version
Order the I15312VC2 when your facility already has a properly rated 15HP 3-phase magnetic motor starter in place, or when your electrician is supplying the starter as part of a larger installation project. A 15HP 3-phase motor at 230V draws approximately 42 amps full load; at 460V approximately 21 amps. Your starter must include thermal overload protection sized for your voltage and motor amperage. If you are not certain the starter situation is covered, order the I15312VC2-S instead.
