Castair C-LS12 — 1/2" Air Line Lubricator, 250 PSI, 105 CFM
The C-LS12 is a 1/2-inch NPT standard-size air line lubricator from Castair. It meters oil into the compressed air stream to keep downstream pneumatic tools lubricated during operation. The 1/2-inch port size and 105 CFM flow rating make it the most commonly used lubricator in garage and small commercial shop installations — it fits directly on 1/2-inch drops feeding impact wrenches, air ratchets, air motors, and other tools that require continuous lubrication.
Confirm that your downstream equipment is designed for lubricated air before installing. Equipment with pre-lubricated seals, spray guns, and any component requiring oil-free air should not have a lubricator upstream of it.
What This Unit Does
- Controlled Oil Mist: Adjustable oil feed rate introduces a fine mist into the air stream. Too much oil fouls equipment; too little defeats the purpose — adjust to the manufacturer recommendation for your specific tools.
- 8.5 oz Reservoir: Holds oil for extended operation. Check the sight glass regularly and refill on a set schedule to avoid running dry.
- 1/2" NPT Female Connections: Fits standard 1/2-inch pipe and fittings directly.
- 250 PSI Max / 105 CFM: Handles a single workstation or small cluster of tools on a 1/2-inch drop.
Where It Fits in the Air System
- Install after filtration and regulation: filter → regulator → lubricator, in that order.
- Point-of-use installation at tool drops serving impact guns, air ratchets, and other continuously lubricated pneumatic tools is more practical than a main-line lubricator — it keeps lubricated air away from drops where it is not wanted.
