The Castair C-CF10 is a 1-inch NPT coalescing filter that removes oil aerosols, water mist, and submicron particulates from compressed air lines. With a 0.01-micron DPI (differential pressure indicator) element and 150 CFM flow capacity at 250 PSI maximum, this filter handles main-line filtration for busy shop environments. It must be installed downstream of a 5-micron particulate prefilter -- skipping the prefilter will shorten element life and is not supported by Castair.
Shops running spray booths, air-powered tools on sensitive components, or any pneumatic equipment where oil contamination is unacceptable need coalescing filtration. The C-CF10 is the largest in the Castair coalescing lineup, with a 1-inch connection and 11 oz bowl for higher-volume applications.

How Coalescing Filtration Works
Even after passing through a dryer, compressed air carries submicron oil aerosols and water droplets. These are too small for a standard particulate filter to catch. The coalescing element forces air through a dense fibrous matrix where tiny droplets collide and merge into larger drops that drain to the bowl. The DPI tells you when element loading has reached the replacement threshold.
Prefilter Requirement
The C-CF10 requires a 5-micron particulate prefilter upstream. The coalescing element is not designed to handle heavy particulate, pipe scale, or rust. For 1-inch lines, pair with the Castair C-FS10 particulate filter. Operating without the prefilter will blind the coalescing element prematurely.
