The Castair C2 is a 7.5-10HP two-stage cast iron bare pump with a V4 cylinder arrangement and flywheel. This is a pump-only unit — no motor, no tank, no base. You supply the motor and mount the pump into your compressor package. At 7.5-10HP with two-stage compression and a V4 cylinder layout, this pump is built for sustained high-demand applications: multi-bay auto shops, fleet maintenance facilities, body shops with continuous spray gun demand, and light manufacturing with multi-tool pneumatic circuits.

The V4 cylinder arrangement — four cylinders in a V configuration — provides more displacement per revolution than a 2-cylinder design, which is how Cast Air can cover the 7.5-10HP motor range with good volumetric efficiency. Two-stage compression means the air is compressed in two steps with intercooling between stages, which reduces discharge temperature and moisture carryover compared to single-stage designs at equivalent pressures.

Key Features

  • 7.5-10HP Motor Compatibility: Wide HP range gives flexibility in motor selection for rebuilds and new builds
  • Two-Stage Compression: Two-step compression with intercooling — lower discharge temps, reduced moisture in compressed air, better efficiency at higher pressures
  • V4 Cylinder Configuration: Four cylinders in a V arrangement for high displacement in a compact package
  • Cast Iron Construction: Cast iron cylinders and valve seats for long service life under commercial duty cycles
  • Flywheel Included: Flywheel for V-belt drive connection — verify groove and diameter specifications for your motor pulley match
  • Bare Pump: Motor, tank, and base not included — you configure the complete compressor package

When the C2 Is the Right Pump

  • Pump Replacement: Original pump is worn or failed; the motor, tank, and frame are serviceable — replace just the pump head with the C2
  • New Build, 7.5-10HP Range: Spec'ing a custom compressor for a specific application — the C2 is the pump for this HP range
  • Multi-Bay Auto Shop: 7.5-10HP two-stage output handles simultaneous impact wrenches, air ratchets, and tire equipment across multiple bays
  • Body Shop with Continuous Spray Demand: Two-stage efficiency and adequate CFM for sustained spray gun use
  • Fleet Maintenance: High-duty-cycle environment where continuous-run performance and pump longevity matter

C1 vs. C2 vs. C3 — Choosing the Right Pump

  • C1 (4-7.5HP, inline 2-cyl): Single-bay shops, light commercial, moderate duty cycle
  • C2 (7.5-10HP, V4): Multi-bay shops, body shops, fleet maintenance, higher duty cycle
  • C3 (15HP, W3): Large multi-bay facilities, production shops, continuous heavy demand
