The Castair BV75-MF is a 3/4" Male-Female Ball Valve for compressed air systems. Where most ball valves use the same thread type on both ports (female-female), the BV75-MF has a 3/4" NPT male inlet and a 3/4" NPT female outlet — or vice versa depending on installation orientation. This male-female configuration lets you thread this valve directly into a female-threaded port without adding a nipple, which saves space and eliminates one more potential leak point in the connection.
Key Features
- 3/4" NPT Male-Female Configuration: One male NPT end, one female NPT end — simplifies installation in systems where you're threading into a female port on one side
- 3/4" Line Size: Sized for main supply headers, compressor discharge connections, and high-flow branch lines
- Quarter-Turn Ball Valve: Full open to full closed in 90 degrees of handle travel
- Cast Air Construction: Commercial-grade quality for shop and industrial air system use
- Compact Connection: Male-to-female threading eliminates the need for a close nipple in many installations

Where the Male-Female Configuration Makes Sense
Most ball valves are female-female — you install a nipple between two female ports to make up the connection. The BV75-MF eliminates the nipple on one side. This is useful when you're installing directly into a female-threaded port on a tank, manifold, or compressor fitting. You screw the male end in, and the female end accepts the downstream fitting. Fewer connections means fewer potential leak points and a more compact installation in tight spaces.
Applications
- Compressor Tank Outlet: Direct-thread installation into the female-threaded outlet port on an air receiver tank
- Manifold Port Connections: Where a manifold or distribution block has female-threaded ports — thread the male end directly in
- Regulator Inlet Isolation: Upstream shutoff valve on regulator assemblies with female inlet ports
- Header Branch Takeoffs: Install inline where you need shutoff capability without adding nipples to the connection
- Equipment Feed Lines: Any 3/4" supply connection where the equipment port is female-threaded
