Collection: Compressors - Tandem
Cast Air Tandem Air Compressors
Cast Air tandem units run two pumps on a single crankshaft, sharing one motor to drive both cylinders in sequence. That's different from a duplex configuration, where two separate pumps and motors operate independently with automatic alternation. Tandem gets you high CFM output and elevated HP in a tighter footprint — useful when floor space is a constraint but you need the production capacity to keep up with a busy shop or multi-bay fleet operation.
Built in Spicer, Minnesota since 1991, Cast Air tandem compressors use all cast iron construction throughout — cylinders, pump bodies, flywheel. These aren't consumer-grade castings. The 3-phase configurations in this lineup are sized for industrial service: continuous duty cycles, high-demand tooling, and facilities where a compressor that goes down costs real money per hour.
If you're sizing a system and aren't sure whether tandem or duplex fits your application, call us at 866-217-0063. As an authorized Cast Air dealer, we can walk through CFM requirements, duty cycle, incoming power, and footprint to get you to the right unit the first time.
